Wipro Technologies, a consulting, system integration and outsourcing business of Wipro, has entered into a five-year strategic partnership with Electricity North West, to maintain their IT systems through a managed service framework.

Under the agreement, Wipro will set-up new data centres and configure virtualised and infrastructure, migrate and upgrade all applications supporting the Electricity North West business.

Wipro said that it will also leverage its global remote infrastructure management to provide a fully managed IT services based on the ITIL v3 Service Integration model.

This collaboration will achieve the task of separation of IT operations from Electricity North West’s current service arrangement.

Electricity North West owns operates and maintains the electricity distribution network throughout the North West of England.

Electricity North West chief information officer Andy Funnell said the company believes in Wipro’s demonstration of a strong industry competency, a mature global delivery model, alignment with their near-term and long-term objectives.
