Holiday companies Butlins, Haven and Warner Holidays plan to provide on-site digital entertainment and communication services to staff and visitors at their resorts across the UK, with wireless network installations from Wicoms.

With Wicoms Platform installations, holidaymakers will be able to access branded Pay-Go Wi-Fi and entertainment services with a gaming channel, while the resorts can avail of operating services such as CCTV, facilities management and cleaning services.

Jeremy Pardy, general manager at Butlins Bognor Regis, said: “People want constant internet access, even when they’re on holiday, and Butlins strives to update its facilities. Wicoms provides the digital entertainment platform that allows us to do just that whilst generating a new source of revenue for the business. Aside from innovative entertainment services, the Wicoms Platform also enables the management of important operational services to help our leisure parks function more efficiently.”

Launched recently, Wicoms’ digital services platform provides multiple services, including IPTV, VoIP, gaming and mobile services, over a single network. It aggregates entertainment and communication services from Third Party Service (TPS) providers and offers them to leisure parks, sports stadia, hotel and hotel complexes.

Robb Scott, CEO of Wicoms, said: “Wicoms has negotiated partnerships with some third party service providers and offers a catalogue of services which can be added on a site-by-site basis to suit the specific needs of each individual network. This deal with Butlins, Haven and Warner Holidays will allow us to showcase the diversity of the Wicoms Platform across a range of sites.”

Wicoms has so far installed 10 networks at Butlins and Haven sites. Once installed, the Wicoms Platform enables users to connect to the network via devices such as laptops and gaming consoles, for a fee.

The Camping and Caravanning Club will also install Wicoms network to provide entertainment and communication services to its customers.
