W3i, an application network for Windows applications, has introduced 3quency – a toolbar platform that reportedly simplifies the building of complex toolbars, including client and user customisation features.

According to the company, building a toolbar that engages the user with useful content and quality search capabilities is a marketing strategy to increase user engagement. 3quency makes it happen with drag-and-drop widgets and design capabilities for effective branding combined with the company’s reporting system supplying the data needed for toolbar management.

Ryan Weber, vice president of corporate strategy and co-founder of W3i, said: “The technology makes it easy for a client to configure a toolbar’s content so that each user segment receives a unique, relevant experience that increases engagement. Users can easily customise to suit their own needs; strengthening engagement resulting in longer user tenure and increased performance.”

The company said that the first toolbar delivered by 3quency is Freeze.com Toolbar, offering content as well as access to the widget gallery.

W3i has partnered with Visicom Media, which is engaged in the development of toolbar technology.

Dominic Tremblay, CMO of Visicom Media, said: “We’re very happy to partner with W3i and be able to provide an unparalleled toolbar experience with our Dynamic Toolbar DTX platform. Thanks to its flexible architecture, it’s now really easy for 3quency users to add their favourite widgets with a simple drag and drop or adapt almost any functionality for clients.”
