By responding to the demand for hyper efficient, metro fibre connected, flexible and scalable colocation space, the new LONODN3 data centre will provide an additional 3,000 net technical metres (NTM) of IT space. It will also increase VIRTUS’ London portfolio to over 50MW across its four sites.
Cresswell said: “Our data centres are where the cloud lives in London, so they are in high demand from service providers and users wanting to better interconnect their applications and data across public and private clouds, and get closer to their consumers.”
VIRTUS is now known as one of the leading colocation providers in London, and are also part of the ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) group of companies which consists of over 50 data centres across the world.
Bruno Lopez, CEO, STT GDC, said: “LONDON3 confirms VIRTUS to be one of the largest hybrid colocation providers in the London metro area delivering high quality, flexible, scalable and highly efficient colocation facilities at the lowest total cost of ownership.”
The new data centre will be built in two phases and the first phase expected to open by Summer 2018.
