NEC has said that CJSC NEC Neva Communications Systems (NEC Neva), a subsidiary of NEC in Russia, has signed an agreement with VimpelCom to deploy its iPASOLINK platform for the for the transformation of its backhaul mobile transport network.
As per the agreement, the NEC iPASOLINK will provide VimpelCom with a flexible mobile transport network agile enough to evolve to next-gen IP-based networks, including LTE backhaul, while meeting the current capacity and service demands of Beeline, its mobile company brand.
The NEC iPASOLINK Series is designed to incorporate packet, microwave and optical technologies and also ensures network operators can deploy high-performance, next-gen networks without incurring unnecessary costs.
VimpelCom will deploy the NEC iPASOLINK in the Volga, central and North-West regions of Russia, said the company.
CJSC NEC Neva Communications Systems Deputy General Director Serguey Razmakhaev said the company’s agreement with VimpelCom is a proof point of the high quality and reliability of NEC iPASOLINK and marks a new dynamic era in the relationship with VimpelCom and NEC.
