The trading company Valora has awarded a contract to Switzerland-based information and communication technology (ICT) systems provider T-Systems to operate its data centres and ICT infrastructure.
Under the deal, the Deutsche Telekom unit, T-System will implement a uniform offering transnationally which will help reduce costs and offer an efficient infrastructure platform to support the growth strategy of Valora.
The outsourcing contract is for eight years and involves modernising the entire ICT infrastructure including all servers, networks, end user devices and the helpdesk.
The deal also includes centralising the infrastructure of all of Valora’s European data centres, which include sites in Austria, Germany, Luxemburg and Scandinavia.
The central application management within the competence centre for the different business platforms will be run using Valora’s own resources.
Valora said the contract will lead to savings and transparency in ICT costs as well as an increase in the efficiency of its planning and control.
Valora is aiming at transnational expansion and the deal forms part of it as T-Systems will unify and standardise its ICT landscape which will help increase the quality of its information technology as well as processes.
Meanwhile, member of the Deutsche Telekom board of management and T-Systems CEO Reinhard Clemens said the order from Valora enables it to further expand its business in Switzerland.
