Unitrends has announced the appointment of Kevin Moreau as its managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The company, a provider of backup, archiving and instant recovery, will now see accelerated growth throughout the EMEA region, with the opening of a new London office already underway.
Moreau said: "Unitrends is poised for tremendous success in the backup and recovery market.
"I will be responsible for extending this high-growth strategy into the EMEA market, and with our world-class technology, leadership and network of partners, there is no doubt in my mind that we will succeed."
Unitrends grew 88% in 2012 over 2011, marking the best year in the company’s 24-year history. This record growth is the result of high-velocity sales in the US, along with a solid international presence, with steady sales and a growing network of customers and partners.
Moreau is also tasked with expanding Unitrends’ channel programme throughout the region. In 2012, Unitrends’ channel programme grew 104% year-on-year.
Prior to joining Unitrends, Moreau spent more than six years at backup software vendor Acronis.
As the UK general manager, Moreau built the UK operation from the ground up and assembled a team to support sales and channel development in the region.
Moreau also started a corporate accounts practice covering northern Europe to increase Acronis’ visibility and revenues with larger accounts. Moreau also provided channel accreditation and acceleration in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.
