Twitter is rolling out a new feature, Highlights, to help users find the best tweets on a particular day.

Similar to Facebook’s News Feed, the feature is shows up information that is relevant to the users, instead of bombarding them with all the feeds.

Initially available on Android devices, the feature can be activated by turning on the Highlights box within Mobile Notifications under Settings.

The feature will pick the best tweets based on the popularity of a conversation, topic, or events that are trending amongst the user’s network.

Users will be able to see the highlights twice a day by tapping on to the new icon above the timeline that looks like two stacked cards.

Twitter said: "While your home timeline is a great place to browse through and engage with Tweets, we know it can be challenging to find the time to get through everything."

Previously the company released a similar feature that showed top three tweets that gained popularity while users were away.

The new feature is an attempt by the microblogging site to keep casual users on the platform by making the process of scanning tweets easier, the Wall Street Journal wrote.
