Twitter‘s buy button is being put into its first use with the sale of tickets for a basketball game and a music concert.
The service allows users to make direct purchases using the microblogging site.
Currently, the site is selling tickets for the Hawks vs Nets basketball match in the US, and passes for Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival! .
The company is making deals with musicians and sports teams to sell tickets exclusively on its site.
Users are presented with a pop-up window that allows them to select the number of tickets, and then they have to enter billing information to get the desired tickets.
According to reports, Twitter will store credit card details of the users to facilitate easy shopping experience in future.
The company started testing the feature it created along with payments company Stripe, in September.
Twitter head of e-commerce Nathan Hubbard said the site will eventually become a place for users to make purchases, and give them access to items or experiences as soon as they want them.
