Storage Technology Corp’s UKP3m order from Barclays Bank Plc for 12 Nearline Automated Cartridge Systems, will be completed by May: the fully automated storage silos which mount and dismount 18 track cartridges are being installed in four data centres and Barclays says that it is the first step in its strategy to implement total tape automation.
