Seoul in South Korea will offer free Wi-Fi service in its public places such as parks, streets and trains by 2015.
The South Korean metropolis of Seoul said that free wireless Internet would be provided to people in Seoul in a $44m project funded by local wireless operators, according to an AFP report.
"Wifi service is unavailable at 83 percent of outdoor areas in Seoul… but it soon will be available at every street corner of the city," the city metropolis said.
Wi-Fi will be provided in buses, subway trains and taxis in the city by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, a Reuters report has said that South Korea is planning to install or upgrade over 300,000 mobile payment checkouts at major retailers by the end of this year to promote NFC payment facility.
