Digital Realty is to acquire Telx Group in a bid worth over $2 billion.
According to Reuters, people familiar with the matter said the deal would diversify Digital Realty’s business.
The colo firm’s move comes less than two weeks after Equinix acquisition of TelecityGroup.
Equinix splashed $3.5 billion in the M&A and its market share in the EMEA region doubled to 14%, according to Synergy Research Group.
Digital Realty, the company currently owns 131 data centres worldwide, and by acquiring Telx it will add 20 US-based carrier-neutral properties to its portfolio.
