UK based mobile service provider O2 will offer free WiFi services on London Underground f its customers from June.

O2 has signed a deal with London Underground WiFi provider Virgin Media to offer the service.

As part of the deal, all existing O2 customers subscribed to O2 WiFi service will be automatically registered for free WiFi on the Underground, without requiring a sign-up above ground or remembering a password.

O2 Head of Consumer Gary Booker said the company will start offering free Underground WiFi to O2 customers this summer.

"Our customers want to stay connected wherever they are and will soon be able to check their email, update their Facebook status, shop online, book their next holiday and stay connected to their friends and family right across Tube stations in Central London," Booker said.

In addition, O2 Pay Monthly customers will be able to use TU Go which will allow its customers to use their existing number and tariff to make and receive calls, send and receive texts and use voicemail on up to five devices at the same time.
