Numerex, a provider of secure machine-to-machine (M2M) products and services, has entered into an agreement with Vodafone, under which Numerex will gain access to Vodafone’s data networks that will be offered to its customers as part of DNA (device, network and application) and the FAST platform along with an array of other M2M products and services.
Numerex said that it will also use Vodafone’s cellular footprint to assist M2M companies in bringing their wireless services to market. It will also assist in the development and implementation of M2M applications by providing infrastructure, including hardware integration and certification support; application development hosting and maintenance; and back-end support services such as billing, 24/7 customer care, web-based management tools and training and distribution services.
The company said that its goal is to offer an integrated, single point of contact that enable developers to deploy applications to their own customers over a secure data network.
