NTT Communications (NTT Com) said that it plans to establish points of presence (POP) for its Arcstar Global IP-VPN services in Penang, Malaysia; Boston, USA; and Zurich, Switzerland, to provide multinational companies with access to cost-effective global managed network services in the key Asian, US and European regional markets.
NTT Com said that the demand for global network services is strong in all three of these international business hubs. Northwest Malaysia has experienced a sharp rise in multinational companies, with the city of Penang now established as an important base for business process outsourcing services.
Boston, Massachusetts is home to a large number of finance and high-technology companies, particularly a high concentration of biotechnology firms, while Zurich is also a base for multinational companies, particularly in the fields of finance and pharmaceuticals, the company said.
The POP in Zurich will be NTT Com’s first in Switzerland, where the company has been offering services through partner companies.
NTT Com’s infrastructure includes Arcstar Global IP-VPN and Global e-VLAN, and a Tier-1 IP backbone reaching more than 150 countries in partnership with major internet service providers, and secure data centres in Asia, North America and Europe.
