IP network services provider NTT America has announced the appointment of Doug Junkins as the company’s chief technology officer. Mr. Junkins will succeed Kazuhiro Gomi who was named COO of NTT America in June 2009.
In his new role, Mr. Junkins will be responsible for the company’s technology procurement strategy and vendor selection, industry relations and standardisation efforts, and overall product portfolio coordination across both the Global IP Network and Enterprise Solutions business units of NTT. In addition, he will continue to serve as vice president of IP development for the Global IP Network business unit, overseeing network architecture, tool development and peering relations.
