NII, a provider of mobile communication services operating under the Nextel brand in Latin America, has signed an agreement with Intelfon S.A. de C.V., operating under the RED brand, in El Salvador to extend their International Direct Connect service.
International Direct Connect is an extension of NII’s Push-to-Talk service, DirectConnect, which allows users to communicate instantly at the push of a button.
With the launch of this service, Intelfon subscribers in El Salvador Nextel’s subscribers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru will be able to communicate instantly across national borders.
Utilising Motorola Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN) technology, International Direct Connect is a natural extension of Nextel’s Push-to-Talk service, which provides immediate access to iDEN wireless networks in North and South America.
