Mplayit has unveiled its ‘playable’ app store on Facebook. The social networking features will help to build mobile app discovery among consumers.

The company said that it currently offers ‘playable discover’ for the iPhone and plans to add it to Android and Blackberry devices in the coming months. The Facebook page shows real ‘apptivity’ in app stores, enabling users to see what apps have been receiving the most downloads, reviews, and plays. Mobile users will also be able to see the ‘apptivity’ within their social network, and can see what apps their friends and family are interested in.

Integrating the ‘playable discovery’ experience with a mobile user’s social network is a combination that can alter discovery and interaction of the mobile applications. The app store offers thousands of videos and simulations, enabling users to see how apps or games will perform on their iPhone, the company claims.

The company said that the playable discovery experience is integrated into the social networking experience. Users can link to simulations and videos of their favourite games directly on their social networking pages and mobile users can share with Facebook friends or Twitter followers, their own rankings, ratings reviews and favourites.

Michael Powers, founder and CEO of Mplayit, said: Mplayit is not yet another iPhone app designed to simply reshuffle an already existing app store. Instead Mplayit brings playable discovery to the web browser on your desktop and mobile device. The result is a much deeper and more enjoyable trial and share experience than can be accomplished on the mobile device alone.
