The Networks business of Motorola has selected Eden Rock Communications (Eden Rock) to serve as a system integrator for delivering its WiMAX end-to-end (E2E) low teledensity offering that is suitable for deployments by small operators servicing smaller demographic areas of coverage or lower ARPU options.
In this capacity, Eden Rock will provide system engineering services for the E2E network, integrate and test the E2E network and develop tools along with methods and procedures for the E2E WiMAX network. It will also host an integrated testing site for the E2E network – open to current and potential customers at its labs in Saltillo, Mexico.
Fred Gabbard, vice president of product management at Motorola Networks, said: "This initiative between Motorola and Eden Rock can save small WiMAX operators OPEX and CAPEX costs by defining a complete reference network that may be replicated into a fully-integrated, turnkey E2E WiMAX system.
