Mobile connections in UK will reach 84 million connections in 2014, and the new merged Orange and T-Mobile entity’s subscriber market share will increase to 41% in 2010, continuing the same growth rate through 2013, according to a market intelligence services firm IEMR.
IEMR said that the merger of Orange and T-Mobile will change the competitive dynamics for the UK mobile operators as UK mobile connections reach 84 million by end of 2014.
The research firm projects that Vodafone’s market share will decline slightly, while O2’s market share will increase over the forecast period to reach 28.0% in 2014.
According to IEMR, Hutchison 3G’s ARPU level will continue to be the highest among operators and its monthly ARPU will continue to be approximately £23 over the next two years.
Further, the research firm said that the industry average level of profitability measured by EBITDA margin (calculated as EBITDA / service revenue) will be approximately 22% over the next eight quarters, and O2’s EBITDA margin will be the highest among operators.
