Metronet (UK) has partnered with TeleData, expanding its data centre footprint with a third hub in Manchester.

The company said it will operate via TeleData’s South Manchester carrier neutral data centre and collocation facility, Delta House.

The data centre is located within one of the Airport City Enterprise Zones and offers collocation, cloud, managed and hybrid IT solutions services, according to Metronet (UK).

The internet service provider that combines wireless and fibre network services with hosting platforms to deliver complex IT solutions to customers throughout the UK, said the collaboration was signed to build additional resilience into their existing data centre portfolio and to secure large scale growth capacity to keep pace with a growing client base.

The provider added that TeleData’s customers will also be able to work with Metronet (UK) and take network services from the provider within the same facility.

Tony Hughes, sales director at Metronet (UK), said: "The data centre is located within very close proximity to Airport City – a key location that’s central to Manchester’s plans to become one of the top digital cities in the world and so is a hugely attractive location for Metronet to have a presence to deliver our services".

Matthew Edgley, sales director at TeleData, added: "The forming of this new partnership is a big strategic win for TeleData, but it’s also great news for our own customers who are able to connect directly into the wide range of Metronet (UK) solutions from within our data centre – further enhancing our hosted customers’ choice and the therefore the overall TeleData proposition as a carrier neutral data centre facility."
