Meredith, a media and marketing company, has signed a new three year $5.4m contract with AT&T, to continue providing local and long distance services, toll-free service, teleconferencing, managed internet service and virtual private network service to connect its locations throughout the country.
AT&T said that it will also extend Intelligent Content Distribution Service to enhance the performance of four more Meredith domain names, including the recently launched www.recipe.com. The service is said to enhance the performance of web sites and facilitates speedy downloads for end users.
The company claims that the Intelligent Content Distribution Service enables Meredith to distribute video and multi-media web content to end users across a range of networks to the computer, the television and mobile computing devices. It facilitates improvement of a web site’s capacity, reliability and performance by replicating information on multiple servers located closer to web users.
Brad Wyckoff, chief information officer of Meredith, said: Working closely with AT&T on our strategic online efforts, we continue to extend our influence well beyond traditional print readership into newer digital demographics.
