The latest colo data centre to open in Manchester will be named ‘LDeX2’ and will feature a capacity of 4MVA, network carriers and global Internet Exchange Points (IXPs).

Rob Garbutt, CEO of LDeX, said: "With an increased uptake of colocation services in the UK, we are delighted to announce our plans to expand and open up another UK based data centre facility offering best in class colocation, network connectivity and streaming media satellite facilities to clients."

Similar to LDeX1, the 20,000 sq. ft. facility in Trafford Park will have an onsite satellite farm and will provide connections to content delivery networks, OTT players and cloud platforms, enabling customers to broadcast large scale events and stream content over multiple hosted platforms.

"As a growing technological hub, Manchester is a great strategic fit for us in expanding our customer orientated datacentre portfolio.

"We look forward to investing in the economy there and providing employment and IT services to the local market," Mr Garbutt added.

Users will also benefit from energy efficient facilities which will have a 100% uptime SLA and an all year round disaster recovery and remote hands support services.
