Ahead of further international expansion, IO today launched its Slough data centre.

The 10,000 sq mt modular facility is the second building built by the company outside North America following Singapore in 2013.

The software-defined data centre company said Goldman Sachs will be the hub’s first customer to deploy in Slough.

The data centre uses the first international deployment of BASELAYER’s ECO modules to leverage free-air cooling delivering power by using free outside air, backed by traditional chilled water technology.

Nigel Stevens, IO’s UK Managing Director, said: ""In preparation for our launch, we have assembled a great team of industry experts from the London area.

"We’re looking forward to helping existing customers expand their footprint into Europe, as well as attracting customers from the UK market."

IO runs six facilities worldwide including London, Singapore, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Ohio and New Jersey.
