Netherlands based data centre colocation firm Interxion has suffered a security breach which has exposed the names, contacts job titles, email addresses, phone numbers and other details of clients and prospects.
The company sent emails to its customers saying that it became aware of a breach in December when hackers accessed contact information stored in its CRM about corporate clients and prospects.
The hackers have reportedly run a report that contained information on as many as 23,200 contacts, reported British security blogger Graham Cluley.
The company said: "No financial or other sensitive customer data was accessed, or is stored within this system. We emphasise that this incident only affected Interxion’s CRM system and did not impact or involve any of the data centres or services that Interxion provides.
"No actions are required by you or any of our other customers and prospects regarding this incident."
The company has not given out details about the number of users affected by the issue but said that the affected information have not yet been made public.
Though the hackers have not stolen passwords or other sensitive information affected users may be subjected to phishing campaigns.
The company in the email sent to customers also mentioned that it is monitoring the issue in real time using latest security tech, and will continue to take proper measures to ensure the system remains safe.
