HP has unveiled new telecom offerings that enable communications service providers to generate real-time customer insights.

The new offerings led by HP Subscriber, Network and Application Policy (HP SNAP), expand the company’s business support system (BSS) offerings. The portfolio is being renamed as HP RealTime BSS.

HP SNAP provides wireless, wired and cable companies a real-time policy management offering that applies controls over network bandwidth, charging and customer usage. By offering precise control of network resources, it helps service providers optimise investment in both existing and advanced networks that include long-term evolution (LTE) technologies.

In two BSS solution groups, the company has added functionality to enhance real-time decision making with customer information.

The company said that the HP Investigation includes HP Data Retention and Guardian Online (HP DRAGON), which has been enhanced to help service providers respond to requests from law enforcement to combat terrorism and other crimes. It lawfully intercepts live communications in real time and manage authorities’ requests for lawful interception and data retention and integrates European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) standards for lawful intercept, data retention and open web services.

The company said that the revenue intelligence features CentralView offerings that transform large volumes of customer data into actionable business insights using near-real-time monitoring and analysis.

According to HP, advancements to revenue intelligence include CentralView Fraud Risk Management that helps control fraud tactics, is upgraded with detection flexibility, powerful analysis rules for prioritising case investigation, and clear tracking of resolution progress. The HP CentralView Revenue Leakage Control improves revenue assurance, is enhanced with user-defined preferences to reduce false alarms, manage incident cases and configure key performance indicators.

Nigel Upton, director of communications and media solutions at HP, said:“Service providers can personalise and monetise new services with the HP RealTime BSS portfolio. They also can reduce operational cost and complexity because all the HP RealTime BSS solutions use a common foundation.”
