HP has launched HP Enterprise Mobility platform for communications service providers (CSPs) which will increase their productivity by supporting employee use of smartphones and tablets.

The enterprise mobility platform is based on the HP Service Delivery Platform (SDP) and the mobility platform features a flexible service-oriented architecture.

The new platform will enable enterprises to offer internal mobile applications to employees, allowing them to access company data securely on their personal mobile devices.

The core components of the new mobility platform HP Enterprise Mobile App Store and HP Enterprise Mobility Gateway.

The new App Store enables CSPs to help enterprises create, certify, distribute and manage ‘mobilized’ versions of company apps for employees while the mobility gateway enables CSPs to help enterprise employees access the right enterprise data at the right time by connecting mobile applications with an enterprise’s back-end systems.

HP Enterprise Mobile App Store is hosted at the CSP site and managed for the enterprise and it provides employees an easy-to-use portal for downloading apps.

The mobility gateway is available on the customer premises and as a service from the CSP and it enables developers to create data-rich apps that run effectively even when bandwidth is limited.

The app store features multichannel capability, multicatalog management, application life cycle management and integrated mobile device testing while the gateway features a high-performance access, composite service development, secure exposure of back-end systems and data to mobile applications and lifecycle management of programming interfaces of back-end systems.

CSPs can now adapt the core HP components to suit complex needs, and they can integrate other HP and third-party applications to further enhance functionality.
