HP Enterprise Services has signed a three-and-a-half year, $72m technology outsourcing services agreement with Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group (DTG).
Under the technology outsourcing services agreement, HP will support DTG’s applications portfolio and manage its technology infrastructure.
DTG will move to a hybrid delivery model using a combination of HP onsite support and leveraged services.
HP said that this delivery model allows DTG to build, manage and consume technology services that will optimise planning, deployment and management.
In addition, HP will provide strategic Data Centre Services from its next-gen client data centres, including Network Management Services to manage the company’s LAN/WAN environment and Security Services to protect the network from viruses and malware, said the company.
The agreement also includes management of 200 midrange servers with an additional 200 virtual images. HP will synchronise DTG’s technology infrastructure with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Version 3 service management framework.
Further, HP will continue to deliver Workplace Services, expanding support to DTG’s 259 field locations for 2,600 desktop and notebook PCs and peripherals. DTG will use HP Service Desk Services for employees using these devices.
Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group executive vice president and chief information officer Rick Morris said the company’s technology needs to evolve in a way that increases its flexibility to grow with them while continuing the reliability with which they are accustomed.
"Together with HP, we will continue creating innovative offerings to help us deliver outstanding results to our shareholders and customers," Morris said.
