HP has said that the University of New Mexico (UNM) has selected its networking offerings to enhance its network infrastructure performance and flexibility.

The networking offering is a part of the company’s Converged Infrastructure portfolio that integrates data centre technologies into pools of interoperable resources while the networking offerings provide secure and high-performing connectivity.

The UNM has also selected the networking offering for its newly remodeled high-tech basketball arena, The Pit, for video displays and digital signage throughout.

HP said that the UNM has selected its networking offerings, including the HP E4800 switch and the HP Intelligent Management Center network management platform for performance, single-pane-of-glass management and reduced total cost of ownership.

UNM Information Technology interim director Mark Reynolds said that with more than 32,000 students, 20,000 employees and a dozen remote campus locations state-wide, it is crucial that they generate the best performance and value from their technology investments.

"HP offerings enabled us to upgrade to next-generation network standards, better support campus growth and reduce total cost of ownership over the previous offering," Reynolds said.
