Fujitsu has released Infrastructure-as-a-Service (I-a-a-S) offerings, combining its server and storage products with its network and service experience. The first offering is Infrastructure-as-a-Service for Server, introduced across the CEMEA&I region.
According to Fujitsu, the new product offering enables the dematerialisation of IT hardware. It provides companies with an option to replace all or some of their on-premise hardware with a secure plug-in connection, with physical servers located in purpose-built Fujitsu data centres.
The company said that the Fujitsu’s Primergy server product line and the Eternus storage will provide the required components for server resource allocation. Its service orchestration enables customers to combine the I-a-a-S for Server with their own on-premise Dynamic Infrastructures. The new offering is based on a flexible infrastructure powered by virtualised servers.
The network connection to server resources is through a secured VPN internet connection, instead of a network connection to a server room. Switching on to I-a-a-S for Server, companies can benefit from service provision, scaling and load balancing, server function procurement, and a pay-as-you-go price model, the company claims.
In addition, the company offers several options through a web-based I-a-a-S portal. Virtual server without operating system delivers bare-metal server capacity provided by a virtual server and the opportunity to add appropriate components while the virtual server with operating system provides a virtualised operating system that includes appropriate licenses.

With a simple connection, customers have immediate access to scalable and reliable server resources, backed by Fujitsu’s full support from basic platform product to solutions, services and software.”
