Options, a global provider of infrastructure as a service (IaaS) products to the financial services sector, has announced it will deploy cloud networking services provider Arista Networks’ low latency switching technology.

The 7150 series includes new dark fibre routes and up to 64 wire-speed L2/3 10GbE ports or 6 40GbE ports with multicast, that should enable Options’ users to reduce any delays in market trading.

Options, founded in 1993, said it also hopes the deployment would provide more capacity to further drive up their trading strategies.

Nigel Kneafsey, Options’ CEO, said: "We are also delighted to have deployed Arista Networks’ innovative switching technology on the Options PIPE platform which will help ensure we continue to deliver the best technology environment that meets our HFT clients’ ultra-low latency requirements.

"Options continuously looks to identify and minimize all possible platform latency for our clients and the use of Arista’s latest switching technology is further evidence of these efforts."

Options, which has over 130 financial services clients around the world, has also chosen data permission and auditing solutions from Varonis to help protect its clients.
