Yahoo has updated its photo-sharing platform by enhancing the search tool, beefing up storage space and making sharing of photos and videos across devices easier to providing a unified experience to users.
Three new tools of the photo sharing platform includes Uploaders for Mac and Windows, which will allow users to upload up to half a million photos using their mobile phones, external hard drives, and iPhoto.
The feature will also recognise the photos already uploaded to the platform avoiding duplication.
Flicker has also introduced Camera Roll in the Cloud which uses image recognition technology to organise photos automatically across over 60 categories.
With one swipe, users will also able to bulk download photos and videos or share privately via link or share it to social media networks.
Users will also be able to search for photos and videos in a better way through the new search feature, which is designed using computer vision algorithms.
Users will be able to search using holiday, date or location, and filter images by color, size, and orientation.
Flickr head of engineering Tim Miller said: "Today, we’re taking that one step further as we bring users a brand new set of tools to unlock the power of 1,000 GB of space.
"These tools coupled with our advanced image recognition technology will give our community the power to not only access those special moments from their iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV, Android, or on the web, but to uncover the ones that they thought were lost forever."
