Euro-Log France SA will shortly begin connecting the Euro-Log data centre in Munich to the RS/6000-based system at its first sea-faring value-added reseller in Europe, Soget SA, at the port of Havre in northern France. Soget will be the representative of Euro-Log with its port clients and will sell our services, said Henri Gabko, the firm’s consultant to the project. Euro-Log will handle land transport and Soget will continue to handle sea transport. Specifically, Soget, which operates the container tracking and customs clearing systems for the Port of Havre, will offer to its 250-odd clients Euro-Log’s Transpo-Track and Transpo-Net services for their terrestrial transport needs. It will also provide appropriate container tracking information to the Transpo-Track system, Gabko said. Soget is Euro-Log’s first reseller in France and it now expects to hold discussions with other European port operators.
