Norway’s Telecommunication provider Telenor Group and Ericsson have signed a new frame agreement for cost-efficient fixed voice production.

Under the terms of agreement, Ericsson will consolidate all of Telenor’s mobile and fixed subscriber data into centralised user database based on data layered architecture (DLA), that enables Telenor to integrate its fixed and mobile service offering.

Ericsson said that it will also supply new multimedia telephony (MMTel) offering for Telenor’s fixed network, which includes IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) core network, MMTel application server (MTAS) and DLA offering for consolidating user data.

The company said that this agreement will enable Telenor to offer high quality voice and multimedia services such as chat, presence, and video communication in the fixed network.

In addition, it allows Telenor secure a path for convergence of their mobile and fixed networks, while preparing for 4G.
