Emerson Network Power has introduced the Liebert EFC 300, an indirect evaporative free cooling system.
Available now in EMEA, the cooling system offers improved performance as well as additional capacity and cooling power of up to 350 kW in one single unit.
The new addition to the Liebert EFC product family, originally launched in December 2014, enables data centre owners to reduce costs, space and energy as it allows cooling using a smaller number of units.
Featuring an air-to-air heat exchanger, the product will use a combination of indirect, evaporative free cooling.
The technology will work within a water evaporation process capable of achieving partial Power Usage Effectiveness (pPUE) levels of 1.03, which equates to an annual energy cost reduction of approximately €280,000 in comparison to a pPUE level of 1.3 for a 1 MW data centre.
The solution will be provided by Emerson Network Power’s LIFE remote diagnostic and preventive monitoring service. Experts will analyse equipment data and trends for proactive maintenance and recommend actions to ensure the best operational performance.
The Liebert EFC units were designed to perform in a range of ambient conditions and adapt to the external environment as well as the cooling required by the data centre.
The patented control logic, only available from Emerson Network Power, will allow the units to optimise internal air volumes and temperatures in accordance with specific server requirements, matching airflow needs and ensuring that no power is wasted.
Furthermore, the dedicated iCOM Control will analyse the most efficient balance between water and electricity to help manage costs even more.
Roberto Felisi, product-marketing director Thermal Management at Emerson Network Power in EMEA said: "Our goal is to continuously deliver solutions that meet the unique requirements of all our customers. This latest product, specifically designed for medium to large-sized data centres, offers a complete set of benefits including enhanced and efficient cooling capacities as well as further cost savings.
"With this addition to the Liebert EFC product family and our Thermal Management portfolio, we are able to provide our customers with a more comprehensive selection of products, and as a result, the best technology that fits their data centre specifications.
"The Evaporative Cooling Validation Area offers our customers the opportunity to view demonstrations and simulations of the unit before it is purchased and installed in their facility. This not only provides full transparency around the Liebert EFC performance parameters but also gives customers access to our team of specialists."
