An integrated telecom service provider, du, has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to upgrade its mobile network operations in the UAE, which is estimated to cost AED400m.

The company said that Nokia Siemens Networks will enhance its network performance and operations in UAE by expanding its 2G network and introducing 3G HSPA+ network with speeds of up to 42Mb as part of du’s existing 3G HSPA+ network.

Under the agreement, Nokia Siemens Networks will provide a comprehensive portfolio of telecommunication equipment and services across radio, core, transmission, value added services and operational support systems.

du head of customer team Kalle Autto said Nokia Siemens Networks will help the company upgrade and modernise its network to improve coverage, and enhance their customers’ communication experience on the move in services such as Internet browsing, email, mobile TV, voice and video mail among other value added services.
