Devicescape, a provider of Easy WiFi, has said that iPass, a provider of enterprise mobility services, is leveraging Devicescape’s Easy WiFi Network as part of the new OpenAccess service.

Devicescape said that it will be used to provide iPass customers with an additional 13,000 hotspots at more than 7,000 venues in North America. To provide this increase in the number of available WiFi locations, Devicescape’s Easy WiFi service will be integrated into iPass’ new OpenAccess platform.

The company said that iPass chose a custom subset of hotspots from its Easy WiFi Network to offer access in well trafficked and high quality locations for its customer base of business travelers.

Rod Brewster, vice president of alliances at iPass, said: "iPass is dedicated to delivering more predictability and control over enterprise mobility to our customers and the addition of the Easy WiFi Network to our services underscores that commitment.

"By partnering with Devicescape we can provide our customers with instant access to an expanding footprint of WiFi hotspots, enabling them to set policies to take advantage of lower cost or higher bandwidth connections."

OpenAccess with the expanded Easy WiFi footprint is available now from iPass, and currently supports Windows PCs and Apple Macintosh.
