Mobile phone operator Orange is said to have made an offer to buy UK branch of T-Mobile after the speculation surrounded that the parent company of T-Mobile UK, Deutsche Telekom is going to offload its UK branch of T-Mobile.

The Guardian reported that the offer made by France Telecom’s mobile arm has been rejected by Deutsche Telekom.

There are also rumours that Vodafone is planning to swap its Turkish business in exchange of T-Mobile UK, which is expected to strengthen Deutsche Telekom’s presence in the region where it already controls Greek operator OTE.

Earlier this month, Deutsche Telecom has brought down the value of T-Mobile UK to £3.3 billion following poor quarterly reports.

Reports say that the share holders of Deutsche Telekom, the German government and private equity group Blackstone have previously urged a sale of the UK business.
