Distributed social media company Demand Media has released the Twitter functionality within the company’s Pluck social media platform. By combining the two technologies, Pluck now enables publishers, brands and retailers to make their community content and conversations visible on Twitter.
Demand Media said that the integration between Pluck and Twitter is in accordance with its ‘Social Bridging’ initiative – a collection of capabilities to enable enterprise customer communities to establish 2-way connections with 3rd party social networking destinations.
According to Demand Media, Pluck’s support of Twitter includes the following features: ‘Invite Friends’ feature which allows users to invite all their Twitter followers to join them on a Pluck-powered site; ‘My Latest Tweet’ feature that allows users tweets to be reflected in their persona on a Pluck-powered site; and ‘Tweet my Activity’ feature to allow users to share their social contributions (comments, forum posts, blog posts, photo uploads, etc.,) made on Pluck-powered sites as tweets.
The company said that the Pluck technology powers comprehensive social media capabilities deployed on digital destinations. The Twitter integration would extend Demand Media customers’ reach across the web, allowing them to unify their users’ identities, relationships and activities across multiple destinations through social bridging.
Dave Panos, executive vice president of social platforms at Demand Media, said: This social bridging enables a future where our online identities, relationships and conversations will cross the web effortlessly, resulting in a much richer and more human web, with social structures and relationships that more closely mirror our offline lives.”
