Dell has expanded its enterprise technology portfolio and introduced new modular virtualisation and data centre consulting services, new virtualisation configurations, PowerEdge servers and EqualLogic PS4000 storage array.
According to Dell, the new offerings would help organisations to simplify the planning, deployment and management of virtualised and physical IT environments. Reportedly, the expanded lineup caters to two key areas of enterprise computing – virtualisation and High-Performance Computing (HPC), while also providing differentiated services for small and medium sized businesses.
Dell claims that its two virtualisation configurations, data centre virtualisation, and small and medium business virtualisation are unified platforms with pre-configured architectures which simplify the design, procurement and deployment of virtual enterprise infrastructures.
Dell also announced additional virtualisation products including, Enhanced Hypervisors with support for VMware vSphere 4 and Citrix Essentials for XenServer 5.0 and Disaster Recovery.
The company said that it is introducing the new EqualLogic PS4000 storage array and PowerVault NX3000 network attached storage (NAS) device to help SMBs and remote office customers to meet the demands for storage. It is also extending PowerEdge portfolio with Intel Xeon 5500 series processors to include the PowerEdge T410 and T710 tower servers and R410 rack server.
Dell is also adding PowerEdge R410, a rack server for HPC and technical computing environments within the public and private sectors.
