Amidst security concerns with Chinese company Huawei, UK Prime minister David Cameron has praised a porn filtering system which is controlled by the Chinese company.

BBC reported that Cameron said the telecome provider TalkTalk had shown great leadership in setting up its system, Homesafe, which it has provided to customers since 2011.

TalkTalk told the BBC it was comfortable with its relationship with Huawei, and that the service was very popular.

The news agency reported that Huawei’s UK-based employees are able to decide which sites TalkTalk’s net filtering service blocks.

Cameron recently said that the country’s Internet services providers will be asked to automatically block access to online pornography sites unless the subscribers opt to receive it.

Earlier this month, the UK government said that it will review the operations of Huawei’s cybersecurity centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire over security concerns.

In its report, ISC revealed a number of weaknesses in the country’s approach to investment in the Critical National Infrastructure, citing Huawei Technologies deal with BT.
