A breakdown of IT budgets by research house Kable has revealed data centre spend as a priority when compared with network, service desk, end-user IT, applications, communications and management.
In 2014 19.5% of IT budgets were targeted at data centres and the forecast for this year is or that figure to stay virtually unchanged at 19%.
Network spend is expected to stay about 15.5%, followed by service desk and end user computing at around 14.5% and applications spending at 14%. Communications and management showed steady states fo below 12% adn 11% respectively.
In overall terms of expected budget changes, 37% expected a 1-5% increase in 2015 budgets, just under 30% expected budgets to be flat.
Sixteen per cent projected significant increases of more than 6% while around 6% said their budgets would shrink by more than six per cent.
Kable questioned 2,685 respondents.
