Crossbeam Systems, a provider of security platforms for networks, has debuted a new version of X-Series Operating System (XOS) that supports secure delivery of data over 3G and 4G networks.
The company claims that the XOS 9.0 provides redundancy to manage traffic and has networking features including software support for IPv6. It provides scalability boosting connection-per-second capacity by 50% and supports up to 10 million concurrent connections.
In addition, the new version enables mobile operators and enterprises to gauge the operational status of their X-Series, correlate and troubleshoot system information, and manage capacity from a single intuitive interface, the company said.
The new XOS’s automated workflow system improves usability and allows customers to upgrade their X-Series platform, the company said.
Jim Freeze, chief marketing officer of Crossbeam, said: While carriers clearly benefit from the enhancements, XOS 9.0 has also been well-received by our enterprise customers, who are increasingly running their operations like service providers and are seeking the same capabilities that telecommunications carriers demand for their networks.
