Ciber, a provider of information technology (IT) services, said that it has been awarded a five-year contract with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics(WWL). As part of the agreement, Ciber will provide global outsourcing services focused on the operation and maintenance of WWL’s international data centres and distributed IT infrastructure.

The company said that, in order to enable WWL to meet their goals, its multi-country, 24X7 global offering includes three primary delivery locations including a central service desk in the US, a technical operations team in India and an engineering team based in Europe. The contract will allow WWL to realise important cost reductions while ensuring 24X7 coverage.

Andre Hellum, head of global IT operations for WWL, said: Owning a data center and running general IT operations is a highly specialised and competitive area that, long-term, is better handled by a specialist company with deep competence and sustainable resources. By choosing CIBER, we are confident that their expertise and flexibility will help enable our success.

Scott Frock, VP of IT outsourcing division at Ciber, said: This contract demonstrates CIBER’s intent to continually improve quality as well as accommodate the changing needs in WWL’s IT structure. The implementation of these managed services will allow for improved efficiency and increased focus on internal as well as external customer service. We are looking forward to offering continued support and growing our relationship based on the goals and direction we have jointly outlined.
