Israeli cellular provider Cellcom Israel has reported a total revenue of NIS1,691m (US$436.4m) for the second quarter of 2010, an increase of 5% as compared to NIS1,608m(US$415.0m) of the same quarter prior year.

The company’s revenue from total services, content and value added services, and handset and accessories increased to NIS1,498m (US$386.6m), NIS269m (US$69.4m) and NIS193m (US$49.8m) from NIS1,420m (US$366.5m),NIS209m (US$53.9m) and NIS188m (US$48.5m), respectively.

Cellcom Israel posted a operating income of NIS499m (US$128.8m) for Q2 FY10, an increase of 12.4% as compared to NIS444m (US$114.6m) of the same period last year.

The company reported a net income of NIS326m (US$84.1m), as compared to net income of NIS277m (US$71.5m) in Q2 fiscal 2009.

Cellcom Israel chief financial officer Yaacov Heen said that this has been a very strong quarter for Cellcom Israel.

"Particularly encouraging was the growth in ARPU we presented in the second quarter this year, which was attributed to increased subscribership of post-paid customers relative to pre-paid, as well as to our acquisition of Dynamica," Heen said.
