BT has selected California-based data centre services provider Equinix’s data centres for the roll-out of BT Radianz Venue, a cloud-based suite of services designed to provide low-latency proximity hosting for traders around the world.
The deal will see BT create ten additional ‘financial ecosystems’ for traders across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
BT Radianz Venue comprises three services now offered inside Equinix data centres that are help customers address the challenges of liquidity, fragmentation and new trading opportunities, while enhancing trade execution performance.
The three new services include: BT Radianz Venue Access, BT Radianz Venue Presence and BT Radianz Venue Interconnect.
The Venue access service will enable connectivity to the BT Radianz Cloud from 40 global non-BT data centres, including Equinix venues.
Venue presence is an extension of the BT Radianz Proximity hosting proposition which allows BT to manage a client’s server and connectivity infrastructure hosted in third-party venues, such as Equinix data centres.
BT Radianz Venue Interconnect is a new service from BT that offers optimised latency between trading venues within the same city and between different cities, globally.
BT Global Services Global Banking & Financial Markets and Sales & Marketing president Tom Regent said, "Customers at Equinix’s global data centers can now benefit from BT’s award-winning managed hosting and proximity services along with access to the BT Radianz Cloud, the world’s largest networked financial community, and the option of interconnectivity to and between worldwide trading venues."
