Bharti Airtel has reported total revenues of INR98.46 billion for the second quarter of 2009, an increase of 9% compared to INR90.2 billion for the same period last year. For the first half of the year, revenues totalled INR197.87 billion, an increase of 13% compared to INR175.04 billion.

For the quarter ended September 30, 2009, EBITDA was INR41.4 billion, an increase of 12% compared to INR36.9 billion for the third quarter of 2008. For the first half, EBITDA totalled INR82.93 billion, an increase of 15% compared to INR72.1 billion.

The company has posted a net income of INR23.21 billion, an increase of 13% compared to INR20.46 billion for the same period last year. For the first half, net income totalled INR48.38 billion, an increase of 19% compared to INR40.71 billion for the same period last year.

The company had 113.4m customers at the end of the quarter, an increase in the total customer base by 42% compared to the same period last year. Mobile services customers grew 8% to 110.5m from 102.37m while Telemedia services customers increased 4% to 2.93m, compared to 2.51m for the same period last year.
