Mexican fixed-line integrated telecommunications company Axtel has posted a gross profit of MXN1.96 billion for the first quarter ended March 31, 2009, an increase of MXN101m, or 5% compared with the same period in year 2008. The gross profit margin increased from 65.5% to 70.4% year-over-year.

For the 12 month period ended March 31, 2009, the company’s gross profit totaled MXN7.97 billion, compared to MXN7.67 billion recorded in the same period of year 2008, a gain of 4%.

Revenues from operations totaled MXN2.79 billion in the first quarter of year 2009 from MXN2.85 billion for the same period in 2008, a decrease of MXN52 million, or 2%.

Revenues from operations totaled MXN11.52 billion in the 12-month period ended March 31, 2009, compared to MXN12.03 billion in the same period in 2008, a decrease of MXN512 million, or 4%.

The adjusted EBITDA totaled MXN960m for the three-month period ended March 31, 2009, compared to MXN954m for the same period in 2008, an increase of 1%. For the 12-month period ended March 31, 2009, adjusted EBITDA amounted to MXN4.08 billion, compared to MXN4.1 billion in the same period in year 2008.
