Telecoms company AT&T has launched its new messaging device, the Pantech Pursuit II.

The new device is expected to be available for AT&T customers on 17 July for $49.99 with a two-year agreement and a qualifying rate plan after $50 mail-in rebate.

The Brew Mobile Platform-based phone features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, vertical sliding keyboard, and drag and drop shortcuts.

It also comes with a 2MP camera, a camcorder, USB 2.0 connectivity, and Prue-loaded social media widgets, said AT&T.

AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets vice-president Mike Woodward said AT&T welcomes Pantech’s latest quick messaging phone to our industry-leading device portfolio.

Woodward said, "The Pantech Pursuit II offers great value to our customers who want a feature-rich device that’s practical yet stylish."

Pantech Wireless vice-president of product planning Wyatt Whaley said, "Pantech’s messaging phones for AT&T remain in high demand."
