French IT services firm Atos Origin has secured a contract with printer manufacturer Brother to manage the transition of all SAP systems to a new hosting environment.
Brother’s new hosting environment is based on a dual data centre platform with full Disaster Recovery capability, the company said. It is hoped the new system will provide Brother with improved service levels and cost reductions.
Ian Metcalfe, IT director, Brother International Europe, said: “Atos Origin has once again provided Brother with a cost effective solution to meet our ever increasing requirements. With the need for 24 x 7 availability and minimum downtime in the case of a disaster, yet again our long term partner has come up with a winning solution.”
The two companies first joined forces in 1999, with Atos providing hosting and SAP services to Brother.

Drawing on the knowledge and experience of our 5,000 SAP experts worldwide, we will manage the upgrade to ensure no disruption to business while continuing to deliver a service that meets the needs of Brother today and tomorrow.”
Atos Origin is the Worldwide IT Partner for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), meaning it is overseeing the information technology needs at the London 2012 games. Other clients include English Heritage, the UK Department of Health, bread maker Warburtons and French retailer Monoprix.
